Ambrey Baker’s Next Tech Leap: Cloud-Based Collaboration with New Common Data Environment (CDE)
At Ambrey Baker, we have always believed that delivering excellence in construction requires more than just skilled craftsmanship — it demands a commitment to innovation. Over the past four months, we have taken a decisive step forward by embracing a digital-first approach to project collaboration and document control. The centrepiece of this shift is the adoption of PROCORE as our new Common Data Environment (CDE).
PROCORE gives us a centralised system for managing every aspect of project documentation. Instead of separate folders, files and emails across different teams, everyone now works from one cloud-based source. Clients, design teams and site operatives can all access the latest project information using either a web browser or the mobile app. Whether you are in the office or out on site with a tablet, the most up-to-date drawings and documents are right there with you. This removes the risk of teams working from outdated information and ensures that decisions are made based on the latest available data.
One of the real benefits we are seeing on site is the way PROCORE supports real-time reporting. Our teams can log inspections, raise RFIs, report snags and make observations directly from the app while they are walking the job. These updates are immediately visible to the relevant people, helping us to address issues quickly and keep the programme moving. This also means we can track and escalate matters far more efficiently than before, with clear records of when and how each issue was raised and resolved.
The advantages go beyond individual projects. Because all activity is captured in one place, we can now review data across multiple jobs to identify patterns, monitor performance and make informed decisions at a company level. This allows us to continuously refine our processes, streamline workflows and improve the way we manage delivery from start to finish.
Having a single source of project truth also gives our clients a much clearer view of what is happening across each phase of the build. Every drawing, comment, change and milestone is captured in the system, forming a reliable and consistent thread of information from the very first design meeting to final handover. This level of transparency supports better communication and gives everyone involved greater confidence in the journey of the project.
With this move to PROCORE, we are saying goodbye to endless paper trails and scattered records. We are building smarter, responding faster and working more collaboratively across all our teams. Embracing this technology is not just about keeping up with the industry. It reflects our determination to lead from the front and deliver the very best outcomes for our clients through innovation, clarity and control.
