We are seeking an experienced business leader to lead and grow our Hard FM & Industrial Services division.
The division currently delivers approximately £5 million of annual revenue through essential repairs,
maintenance, industrial services and small works. The business has a clear ambition to grow the division to £15
million-plus annual turnover during the next three to five years.
The Role
As Managing Director of Hard FM & Industrial Services, you will take responsibility for the divisionʼs strategic,
commercial and operational performance.
This is a senior leadership appointment with direct influence on business strategy, growth and future ownership.
The successful candidate will have a clear pathway towards equity participation.
You will lead the continued development of maintenance, essential repairs, industrial services and small works
across regulated industrial environments.
You will build client relationships, develop recurring revenue, strengthen operational delivery and create the
leadership structure required to support future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the divisionʼs growth strategy from approximately £5 million to £15 million-plus annual turnover.
- Take full ownership of the divisionʼs profit and loss performance.
- Develop new client relationships and expand existing key accounts.
- Build long-term relationships with clients operating in regulated industrial sectors.
- Lead business development, commercial and operational teams.
- Grow maintenance, essential repairs and small works service lines across multiple technical disciplines.
- Develop framework agreements, repeat-work opportunities and recurring revenue streams.
- Recruit, mentor and develop future team members and the divisionʼs leadership team.
- Ensure services support client compliance, asset performance and operational continuity.
- Contribute to group strategy across the four business pillars.
- Support future acquisitions, integration activity and wider business-growth initiatives.
- Represent Ambrey Baker at senior client meetings, industry events and strategic discussions.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience leading a profit centre, business unit or comparable operational division.
- Strong commercial and financial management capability.
- A track record of growing revenue and profitability.
- Experience working within regulated manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Experience leading operational, commercial and business-development teams.?
- Ability to develop strategic client relationships and key accounts.
- Experience delivering maintenance, repairs, shutdowns, industrial services or small works.
- Strong leadership, decision-making and communication skills.
- Ability to build and deliver a clear growth strategy.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK to client sites and business locations.
