Project Spotlight: Different Dog in Telford – Phase One Complete

Different Dog is revolutionising the pet food industry with freshly cooked, all-natural products.

Driven by a mission to bring quality to pet nutrition, they have rapidly grown from a team of three to 90 dedicated professionals. Ambrey Baker is honored to support this journey, with our team transforming their Telford facility into a state-of-the-art kitchen that meets their unique production needs.

In preparing this space, we undertook comprehensive surveys to ensure that everything was in place for a seamless setup. A key focus was creating a robust, high-capacity drainage system tailored to meet Different Dog’s rigorous production requirements.

By conducting CCTV inspections and cutting through reinforced concrete to integrate a new piping system, we ensured durability and efficiency. To support maintenance, we also constructed a new manhole for easier access, reinforcing the facility’s long-term operability.

The facility’s cold storage was outfitted with custom-built insulated panels and ceilings to maintain food safety and quality, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of products. Every detail, from food-safe silicone seals to hygienic cladding, was designed with Different Dog’s operational needs in mind. With thoughtfully placed doors, ramps, and PVC curtains, we built an environment that prioritises hygiene while making daily operations easier.

To address Different Dog’s increasing production volume during this transformative phase, we constructed a temporary facility that adheres to stringent food hygiene standards. This included designated hand wash areas, wash zones, ingredient preparation rooms, and other essential process spaces to enable seamless operations while the main factory upgrades are underway. This temporary solution ensures their ability to meet growing demand without compromising on quality or efficiency.

With Phase One complete, the facility is ready to support production operations, offering Different Dog a secure, compliant space that supports their mission. As we move into Phase Two, Ambrey Baker will continue supporting Different Dog’s vision by constructing a new mezzanine floor to add new office spaces and reconfiguring existing areas for enhanced functionality. This collaborative approach will ensure Different Dog has a workspace designed for long-term success.
